Black History Week

11th Nov 2022

Another busy week! This week we learnt all about Alma Thomas. She was a famous artist from America. Using her work as inspiration, we created our own art work similar to her piece 'The Eclipse'.

We also read a lovely story called 'Sulwe' by Lupita Nyong’o. Sulwe is a young African girl who was not proud of her skin colour. The story is about the journey she takes to learn how amazing and beautiful her skin colour is and how we should all be proud of ourselves and how we look.

On Friday for cooking, we made a South African dessert called 'Coconut Ice'. We found it to be very sweet but had so much fun making it in all the different colours.
