Static Electricity Experiments, Penpals and more!

11th May 2026

Last week was a short week in school, but we got working on our penpal letters with lovely little finger puppets that we made for each of our French penpals.  They are now in the post, making their way to their destination in Nice!  Our sunflowers are really coming along well in the windowsill of our classroom.  Ms Callaghan says we can bring them home just before June bankholiday weekend.  We will plant the remainder out in our school grounds.  Today we learned all about Static Electricity and carried out 4 experiments involving balloons, coke cans, our hair, torn pieces of paper and water pouring from a tap.  Who would have thought that a balloon could make water bend!!  We also got finishing learning about butterflies and completing our own bottle butterflies!
