  • danced along to GoNoodle.
  • took part in some active challenges outside and in the PE hall.
  • worked as a team using the parachute.
  • took part in some races.
  • we worked on our balance in yoga.
  • we ran lots of laps.
  • we had lots of active breaks.
  • we had so much fun!

As you know ‘Active SCHOOL Week’ takes place every April and is a really enjoyable part of the school year for our children. This year, because of Covid-19, it is not possible for this to go ahead so we are asking you to participate in the Active HOME Week’ challenge instead.

To complete the challenge children have to find four different ways of being active every day making sure that this add up to 60 MINUTES, or more. Children are encouraged to try something NEW, have FUN with a family activity and to ENJOY the week!

There are so many great physical activity suggestions in circulation at the moment and our teachers have plenty of ideas for you too.

Keep our teachers up-to-date of all the wonderful physical activity taking place at home by completing the Active Home Week challenge chart. Every child who sends a completed challenge chart to their teacher will receive a certificate!

Remember if exercising outdoors, keep within 2 km from home, keeping 2 m distance from others.

Stay safe and have fun!

Active School Week was a huge success.  The children tried lots of different sports: hockey, rugby, Gaelic, orienteering, handball, golf and skipping.  Everyday they had active breaks and took part in Drop Everything and Dance.  They really enjoyed it, thanks to Ms Needham for a great week. Here is a video of the children enjoying their activities.
