Autumn Explorers!
There was no need for textbooks because our classroom was the great outdoors! We took our learning outside to investigate the beautiful changes that autumn brings, focusing on the trees and leaves in our own school grounds.
Our young scientists were armed with their keen observation skills and plenty of curiosity. We crunched through leaves, compared their stunning shades of gold, red, and brown, and felt the different textures of bark. While it looked like a simple walk in the fresh air, a huge amount of learning was taking root.
We developed our descriptive language by talking about what we saw, felt, and heard, building our vocabulary. Sorting and classifying leaves by size, colour, and shape was a hands-on lesson in early maths concepts. This adventure also helped us understand the changing seasons in a real and meaningful way, connecting us to the world right outside our window.
It was a wonderful, sensory-rich experience that proved the best lessons are often found just beyond the classroom door. Well done to our brilliant Rangers 2 explorers!
