In September, as part of building a positive and supportive classroom climate, our class spent time discussing the kind of environment we want to create together. The children shared their ideas about what helps everyone feel respected, included, and ready to learn. From these discussions, they composed their own set of classroom values—values they believe should be lived out each day in how we speak, act, and treat one another. (Ms. Whelan)
