Go Green for St. Patrick's Day!
27th Mar 2026
The classroom was awash with emerald green, vibrant orange, and pure Irish pride as we celebrated St. Patrick's Day in true style! Our pupils arrived beautifully dressed in the national colours, ready for a day of creativity, culture, and craic.
The highlight of our celebrations was crafting our very own St. Patrick's Day hats using cardboard. At first glance, it looked like a simple dress-up activity. But our young artists were busy developing a range of important skills with every fold, snip, and decoration. Cutting and shaping the cardboard required fine motor control and hand-eye coordination, strengthening those essential muscles for writing. Decorating their hats encouraged creativity, decision-making, and planning as our pupils chose their designs, patterns, and colours.
We also explored the cultural significance of the day, discussing the symbols of St. Patrick's Day, including shamrocks, leprechauns, and the beautiful colours of the Irish flag. This sparked rich conversations about tradition, celebration, and what makes this day so special to us all.
The excitement of dressing up in green brought a wonderful sense of belonging and community spirit to our classroom. Our Rangers 2 crew looked absolutely fantastic, and the pride they showed in their finished hats was a joy to see.
Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us in Rangers 2 – Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh!
