Happy St. Valentine's Day from Ms Dunne’s 3rd Class!

14th Feb 2020

It has been a fun week in our class.

In maths we were learning about 3D shapes. We used matchsticks and blu tack to try and build some shapes of our own. Triangular prisms were the trickiest to make! Cubes were the easiest.

We have been learning about Winter sports in English this week. Some of them look very interesting and exciting. A boy in our class is actually a member of the Dublin Flying Ducks ice hockey team and he brought us in his gear to show us. It was really cool and he dressed up in it so we could see what a real ice hockey player looks like.

Fifteen children from our class were chosen to take part in a Rugby blitz in Balbriggan Rugby club. They competed against lots of other schools from Balbriggan and did a great job. It was wet and mucky but they still tried their best and represented our class really well.

And last of all today is St Valentine's Day! Yesterday in art we made Flower cards to give to people on Valentine's Day. Each flower was a heart shape and had a special message hidden inside the flower. They turned out really well, and we enjoyed giving them as gifts.
