Our Action Day

2nd Mar 2024
On Friday 1st March we had our Global Citizenship Litter and Waste Action Day. We have been working on this flag for two years so the day was all about celebrating our work and what we have learned. All the classes did some activities based on the Global Goals and Litter and Waste. We all worn green. The Green Team led an assembly in the hall teaching the whole school about Fairtrade. We also had Roisin and Claire from Green Schools come to visit us and join in our day of celebration. The Green Team took Roisin and Claire on a tour of the classrooms to see what fantastic work was taking place. Some highlights were the Senior Infants/1st Class doing a mini beach clean up in their classroom, 5th class taking part in a "Banana Split" Fairtrade activity where they had to debate how much each person on the production chain should earn and 2nd class making some fabulous Reduce, Reuse, Recycle animations. All the classes did great work and really enjoyed the day. Here are some photos of the day.
