Rangers 2's Spooktacular Start!
Our Rangers 2 classroom has been a hive of activity this week, with a distinctly orange and autumnal feel. In celebration of the season, our little rangers embarked on a wonderfully messy mission: painting pumpkins!
At a glance, it may have looked like we were simply creating a colourful mess (and we are very proud of our colourful mess!). However, our pupils were developing key skills every step of the way.
While carefully choosing their colours, they were making independent choices and expressing their creativity. As they gripped their paintbrushes and worked to cover the curved, tricky surface of the pumpkin, they were strengthening the fine motor muscles essential for writing. We also practised patience as we waited for our masterpieces to dry, and used plenty of language to describe the textures, colours, and spooky faces we were creating.
It was a fantastic, hands-on way for our Rangers 2 crew to learn and celebrate together. We hope you enjoy our not-so-spooky gallery of gourds
