Science Week

7th Feb 2022

This year for science week we did a variety of different experiments. For our first experiment we created a beautiful rainbow using skittles. We had to put the skittles around the edge of the paper plate and then we poured warm water into the middle of the plate. This experiment helped us to learn all about the science concepts of absorption, colour mixing and dissolving. For our next experiment we made a Coca Cola super fountain. We put our coke bottles on the ground and unscrewed the lids. Then we put mentos in the bottles and we took a step back. The coke burst out of the bottles. It was so cool. This helped us learn about the basics of acid and base reactions. Our final experiment was to test the effect that different drinks have on our teeth. This experiment was very interesting and we will definitely think before we have our next drink of coke or coffee (my poor mum). We really enjoyed science week this year and we are looking forward to doing more fun experiments.
