Spring is in the air! March 2025
30th Apr 2025
Our Nature Table in First Class has come back to life! We have branches from the Willow tree (an native Irish tree) with it's pale yellow catkins, beautiful purple bog heather from the acidic soils of Leitrim, a branch from a pine tree which still had its cones attached and which we know are evergreen trees. We also have our favourite spring flowers - daffodils and primroses. These flowers which we see everywhere at the moment, are a true sign that spring has arrived!
Do seeds need water to grow?
We carried out an experiment to see if water is necessary for seeds to grow. We planted seeds in two containers adding water to only one of the containers. We did not have to wait long for our answer!
